Centennial Mass (2022-2023)
SATB Choir, Assembly, Organ, and Brass Quintet

In October 2022, Redeemer Lutheran Church celebrated its 100th birthday. To help lift up this celebration, I wrote a mass setting of the communion liturgy that involved their Festival Choir and Gargoyle Brass. I have since made additions and improvements (a setting of This Is the Feast, a Reformation-specific Preface, etc.) and expect that it would fit easily into the wheelhouse of most congregations that are used to a lot of singing during worship. After sharing the initial draft with the Senior Pastor, I got what I consider to be a glowing compliment: “It’s so singable that people may not realize it isn’t another setting out of the ELW.” It’s not, and it was written specifically with Redeemer and their musical forces in mind.
